Egyptian and Arab Institutions Stand in Solidarity with UN High-Level Meeting on Women

Several Egyptian and Arab institutions have declared their solidarity with the High-Level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, held on 22 September 2025 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women. The institutions emphasized that the plight of Palestinian women must remain at the forefront of the international agenda.

In a report submitted to the meeting, the institutions underscored that Palestinian women continue to endure serious violations by the Israeli occupation authorities, including arbitrary detention, direct targeting during military operations, denial of access to healthcare and education, as well as severe restrictions on employment and economic opportunities.

Organizations such as Egypt & Peace and the Arab Observatory for Freedoms and Human Rights urged the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities by holding the occupying power accountable for its violations, ensuring international protection for Palestinian women and girls, and supporting programs that advance their economic and social empowerment.

The statement concluded by stressing that empowering Palestinian women is a cornerstone for achieving a just and lasting peace in the region—an objective that must be urgently pursued
