AAIB Posts 27% Rise in H1 2026 Net Profit to USD 202.8 Million

Arab African International Bank (AAIB) announced its financial results for the first half of 2026, delivering a 27% year-over-year increase in net profit to reach USD 202.8 million, supported by robust revenue growth, improved operational efficiency, and disciplined risk management.

 

Key Financial Highlights

Net Banking Income: Rose 15% year-over-year to USD 398.4 million, driven by an 18% increase in net interest income.

 

Asset Quality: The Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio improved sharply to 1.2% (compared to 2.1% in December 2025), reflecting strong asset quality and material recoveries.

 

Profitability & Capital: Annualized Return on Average Equity (ROAE) reached 13.5%, while the Capital Adequacy Ratio stood strong at 18.3%, well above the 12.75% regulatory requirement.

 

Balance Sheet Momentum: Total assets grew 5% to USD 21.1 billion. Customer loans increased 16% to USD 5.8 billion, and customer deposits rose 4% to USD 15 billion.
