Vodafone Egypt strengthens security for 55 million customers with Company-Wide ISO/IEC 27001 Certification

Vodafone Egypt has achieved company-wide ISO/IEC 27001 certification for its entire Cyber Security function, earning independent, internationally recognized validation of how it protects the 55 million customers who rely on it.
For those customers, it is assurance that the conversations, data, and money they trust to Vodafone every day are safeguarded not by one team or one system, but by how the entire organization is run.
Beyond certifying individual platforms and infrastructure environments, Vodafone Egypt has now established a comprehensive, company-wide security framework in which cybersecurity is embedded across decision-making structures, operational processes, and governance at every level of the business.
Security, at Vodafone Egypt, is not a function that operates in isolation; it is a discipline woven into how the entire organization thinks, operates, and delivers.
The scale of what that protects is considerable. Vodafone Cash now serves more than 28 million wallet holders, while Vodafone’s 5G network moves the data behind millions of daily interactions with the widest coverage in Egypt.
As more of everyday life shifts onto these rails, from banking to business to public services, the security beneath them becomes the foundation that makes the digital economy possible.
That foundation matters most for what comes next.
The next phase of the digital economy will be defined by artificial intelligence and data centers: As Egypt positions itself as a hub for this future, tech companies able to demonstrate world-class, independently verified security will be the ones trusted to host the AI workloads, sensitive data, and digital services that depend on it.
Catalin Buliga, Technology Director at Vodafone Egypt, said: “Certifying our entire Cyber Security function, in addition to the individual systems already accredited, is a strategic choice about how we position Vodafone Egypt for the next decade. As AI and data move to the center of the economy, security becomes a precondition for growth, and trust becomes the foundation everything else is built on.”
Vodafone Egypt now holds one of the most comprehensive cybersecurity certification portfolios in the regional telecommunications sector.
In addition to the newly achieved organization-wide ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the company maintains ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27017 certifications for its Cloud IaaS and Co-Location environments, PCI-DSS certification across its cloud infrastructure and Second Availability Zone, PCI-DSS certification for Vodafone Cash, including VCN and Companion Card operations, and SOC 2 Type II certification validating the operational controls of its financial services platform.
Each certification was awarded following rigorous, independent third-party assessments, giving customers, business partners, and stakeholders verified assurance that Vodafone Egypt’s security standards are continuously tested against internationally recognized requirements.
This level of security rests on more than EGP 125 billion invested in Egypt’s networks and infrastructure since the company began, with a further EGP 20 billion committed in the current financial year alone.
That is what it takes to build infrastructure the country can rely on, and to keep it certified to international standards as both threats and expectations keep rising.
It is also what positions Vodafone Egypt for what comes next: the secure, large-scale foundation that an AI-driven, data-centered economy will demand
For businesses operating in an increasingly digital economy, this matters.
It means that every interaction with Vodafone Egypt’s services, whether through its telecommunications network, cloud infrastructure, or Vodafone Cash platform, is underpinned by a security framework that has been independently examined, validated, and held to the highest global standards.
It is the kind of assurance that enables businesses to grow with confidence, knowing their digital operations are built on infrastructure they can trust.
By investing in resilient infrastructure, secure cloud environments, trusted financial technology, and company-wide cybersecurity governance, Vodafone Egypt remains dedicated to shaping a digital future with customers at the heart of its strategy, helping individuals, businesses, and communities Connect for a Better Future.
