By Eman Hamed

Alameda Healthcare Group, Egypt’s leading private healthcare service provider, signed a new agreement with SAP Egypt, one of the world’s leading producers of software for the management of business processes, to introduce a new range of services and digital solutions to Alameda’s portfolio of hospitals. The partnership will further streamline internal processes, provide enhanced services to patients, and support digitalization of a number of services. The agreement was signed by Dr. Fahad Khater, Chairman of Alameda, and Mohammed Samy, Managing Director of SAP Egypt, who, once again, joined hands to strengthen their alliance to drive digital transformation in healthcare in Egypt.

With a focus on technology and digital transformation, Alameda’s facilities will adopt SAP Signavio, a business process intelligence and mining tool that can support Alameda in analyzing current processes and help it optimize and design new business processes to drive operational excellence and ultimately enhance the customer experience. In addition, Alameda selected SAP SuccessFactors to transform and deliver the best employee experience in healthcare.

The agreement also includes SAP technical support, joint participation in tech roadshows and conferences focused on digital health and innovation, provision of best practice clinical guidelines for EMR, and joint testing of new products and services targeted towards business process transformation, to build a resilient and sustainable operation.

Dr. Fahad Khater, Chairman of Alameda Healthcare Group said “Technological advancement and innovation are currently used as a standard for universal success and are therefore at the core of Alameda’s strategy. We are happy to strengthen our relationship with SAP and leverage their technology and innovative solutions to facilitate effective data processing and information flow across our large organization, with the goal of achieving service excellence that yields the best results in patient care. We’ve already taken great strides in leading digital transformation of Egypt’s healthcare sector by introducing the first robotic surgery, and we look forward to breaking new grounds in the fast-changing digital space”

Mohammed Samy, Managing Director, SAP Egypt said “The new SAP solutions will allow Alameda to take a significant step into the ever-evolving health technology space and achieve its patient care goals. We’re happy to be actively accelerating the digital transformation of Egypt’s healthcare sector by partnering with Alameda, one of Egypt’s oldest and most prominent healthcare groups”
The partnership will help Alameda achieve end-to-end visibility across service lines required for value-based care success, and will support its efforts to transform care delivery, lower the total cost of care, and improve patient outcomes. By leveraging innovative solutions, Alameda will improve its internal communication to align on shared goals for the patient, achieve better visibility into critical patient outcomes, and streamline care coordination.

This agreement comes on the heels of a number of agreements secured to advance Alameda’s technological capabilities. In 2022, Alameda partnered with some of the world’s leading medical equipment providers including; Medtronic, Siemens Healthineers and Leica Microsystems, to drive collaboration in training and technical, clinical, and quality assurance educational support, as well as gain access to the latest medical technology and devices, improving the overall operational efficiency and quality across the Group’s portfolio. This journey is equipped with the latest Health information system (Cerner ISH-Med) provided by Cerner, which will become the digital platform for Alameda that allows the Group to utilize the latest healthcare innovation best practices.
