Alameda Healthcare and Roche Sign an MoU to Launch the Oncology Patient Support Program

By Eman Hamed

Alameda Healthcare Group (Alameda), Egypt’s leading private healthcare service provider, showcased its commitment to innovation, collaboration, and equitable access to healthcare at the recently concluded inaugural Africa Health ExCon Conference.

The event served as an excellent platform for Alameda to solidify its newly formed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Roche, the renowned global leader in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, and strengthen its relationship with other leading organizations in the healthcare industry. The MoU with Roche marks a significant milestone for the Group in introducing and upgrading new diagnostic advancements that enhance their patient experience journey.

Commenting on the newly formed partnership Dr. Fahad Khater, Chairman Alameda Group, said: “By leveraging the expertise and resources of both entities, this MoU holds great potential for driving innovation and improving access to cutting-edge diagnostics and treatments. Our collaboration aims to address key healthcare challenges and deliver impactful solutions that benefit both patients and healthcare providers alike,” Dr. Khater concluded.

The MoU will help standardize patient results across all Alameda hospital labs by upgrading SWA instruments, ensuring consistent and reliable diagnoses, reducing the risk of errors and enabling more accurate treatment plans. Additionally, the implementation of professional devices with full connectivity through “Infinity Edge” middleware for point-of-care testing will establish a comprehensive audit trail, meticulously tracking the entire process from warehouse to patient invoicing. This streamlined approach enhances patient safety, expedites the testing process, and contributes to the overall optimization of healthcare services.

The partnership also includes leveraging cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence technology to support radiologists in the oncology patient care program. By harnessing the power of AI, healthcare professionals will have access to enhanced support, leading to earlier detection, more accurate diagnoses, and timely interventions. These advancements underline the commitment to prioritize patient well-being and deliver the best possible care throughout their healthcare journey, ultimately improving patient lives and outcomes.

The Oncology Patient Support Program, which aims to address the various challenges faced by oncology patients, will now be implemented for the first time in private Egyptian hospitals through Alameda Healthcare Group. With a focus on reducing costs, early detection, and improving patient outcomes, this program marks a significant milestone in private hospitals within the country. The program aims to revolutionize cancer care in Egypt, providing a comprehensive approach to tackle patient outcomes, alleviating the burden of high treatment costs, and shortening the treatment process.

In line with its commitment to promoting sustainable practices that facilitate access to healthcare, Alameda also participated in a panel discussion on “Health Innovations to Ensure Equitable Access to Healthcare in Africa”. The panel addressed healthcare disparities and explored solutions to overcome barriers in availing universally accessible healthcare systems.

Alameda concluded its participation at Africa Health ExCon with a renewed dedication to seizing new opportunities to deliver high quality healthcare solutions through nurturing existing and cultivating new strategic partnerships on the ground.

The Group will continue to foster meaningful connections and explore potential collaborations that contribute to the development of robust healthcare systems and improved patient outcomes across the African continent.
